origami dress

newspaper, magazines, junk mail, glue, snap fasteners

Every year the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, WA sponsors an event called the "Trashion Show." Artists are prompted to repurpose discarded materials (trash) into clothing. I gathered old paper bags, magazines, junk mail, and used sketch paper.

Each pyramid is made from three small squares of paper folded up, tucked and glued into one another. These units are assembled to create flattened origami icosahedron. The form of the dress is a result of altering the way these modules are assembled.
